Day 4/30 the Tower!

Day 3/30 Art is Moving 30x30=30 =

Interesting process.
3rd day of project, I kind of had to do the Art. Was about to start working, but willfully decided to take an ARTbreak.

  • Inspiration randomly pick a card form the Thoth Tarot card deck by Aleister Crowley.
  • Do Art around it and reflect
  • This work is pretty dark, Alchemy abound
  • Today, I pulled the Emperor card. Major Archana #4. Lets see what insights he has to say in my journey of creation.

IV - The Emperor

Path of Tzaddi 15 in the Tree of LifeSun in Capricorn, standing for responsibility, order, security, continuity
Zodiac: Aries
Tree of life: The axis Netzach - Yesod
Element: Fire
Number: 4 as physical reality, basic structure, orientation

Trumps III and IV represent Parents in their archetypical way. Just as the Empress stands for Mother Nature, the Emperor is the social word, the structure of civilization, a symbol for its law and order, may they be good or bad, but the power behind them. He is the abstraction of establishment, its stability and security.

In its negative aspects the card can represent the force of bad law in a society where stability is rated higher than morals or ethic. Once law and order are established as an institution, a bad emperor can turn out to be a disaster. And even at his best the Emperor is limited - he puts restrictions and borders to the spontanity of spirit and nature.

In a more personal view the Emperor might stand for a time of stability and structure, linear thinking and discipline. Yet we can't live without it, too many of those attributes will only lead to rational despotism and mental poverty.

Drive: Mastery of the will over nature, a sense for law and order, plan and structure

Light: Creation, recognition, stability, realism, responsiveness

Shadow: Despotism, selfcomplacancy, poorness of feelings, lack of fantasy; rationalism as a prison

Day 2/30 for Art is Moving's 30for30equals30

Day 2-
Kind of a messy day. Challenges overworked piece-funny in 30 minutes

Today I picked the Seven of Wands - Valour

Netzach in the Tree of LifeTree of Life: Netzach through Fire
Astrology: Mars in the 3. decan of Leo

The Seven of Wands is entering Netzach - the depths of creativity and anarchy standing under the number of destiny. And like for all the Seven's, the leaving of the beautiful Tiphareth comes like the fall from paradise. But Fire is a fighter, and though the element seems to be burning down, it will struggle to survive.

So the Seven of Wands talks of a situation where we have to face up forces stronger than ourself, situations that at first sight seem hopeless, yet we'll have to use all that we've learned and fight.

Drive: Courage, fighting spirit, overcoming opposition

Light: Initiation, rebirth

Shadow: Getting attacked, facing hardships

Day 1/30 Art is Moving 30-30-30 for the Month of September

Day 1/30
I am so excited to participate in Art is Movings

30 minutes for 30 days equals 30 artworks

All the artwork you see here is created during the month of September by people around the world who take a 30 minute art break each day in September to create a work of art. They share that artwork her

  • Inspiration randomly pick a card form the Thoth Tarot card deck by Aleister Crowley.
  • Do Art around it and reflect
  • For the beginning of this project I picked the 3 of wands.

My 3 of Wands

Three of Wands - Virtue

Binah in the Tree of LifeTree of Life: Binah though Fire
Astrology: Sun in the 2. decan of Aries

The Three's are connected to Binah - the understanding. The untouched energies of the Two's have met the 3, the number of synthesis and harmony. They're no longer solitudes, they face up their meanings and surroundings. The Three of Wands is called 'Virtue' - the powerful fire understands its responsibilty.

The Three of Wands shows the powers of the element guided by understanding and awareness, the perfect precondition to begin a work or a project, to go ahead with a plan.

Drive: Creativity, the will to begin, striving towards a goal

Light: Accomplishment, confidence, harmony of powers, pride, nobility

Shadow: Moodiness, overestimation of one's self, conceit, rudeness, insolence, obstinacy, treacherypride, nobility-Click Here to find the source of this info.

I will try to reflect on this tomorrow.
Challenges: As someone in my close circle just said this project is waste of time.
OK, this is an interesting thing to think about.

Day 1 has brought up some resistance from the outside with the 3 of wands as inspiration, both the light and shadow where so here.

Onward-we will see what happens tomorrow.

Whale Song: An Inter species collaboration: Lisa Rasmussen MFA & Ceylan Huyla MA

Process Blog for the Project: Whale Song
February 4th- March 20th, 2013

Whale Song is artistic collaboration that is happening in conjunction with our SubstainAbility Exhibition at Art 4 All People, which is a sanctuary for Arts & Consciousness in Malibu. This award winning and transcendent space was co-founded by Lisa Rasmussen MFA (Me) and Ceylan Huyla MA in February 2012.

SustainAbility is an Environmental Art exhibition that features artists who are exploring the pivotal need for stewardship, awareness and advocacy for our ailing Mother Earth. Such eco-artist-warriors, with their individual visions, are shining a powerful light on how can we individually create sustainability through our own actions. These artists inspire us though their transformative art and innovation, and they offer us a glimpse into new ways of being
Through the Whale Song Project, we hope explore and discover some of the core truths of the essence of SustainAbility and Stewardship in the world today.

Day #1 The Source
My Process: My Ocean ritual and mediation. This is my practice of connecting with my internal self and with nature. Almost everyday I walk/run to the Santa Beach. I go to the shoreline. I sit and I draw a circle around myself in the sand. Then I mediate going up my chakras connecting with my internal self and the Ocean. Thoughts and insights emerge during this practice. I intentionally try to heal myself and the planet.

Today I went out on the Beach to find the name of this project. Here is what came to me and my communication with Ceylan.
I think our SustainAbility collaboration project should be called Whale song. I feel that the whale song has some kind of coded cellar memory that will reveal it self through this project. That will in turn give us the info to remember, healing, and revere Mama ocean and the planet .
Give a light for others to realize this gift within our own consciousness and the planet. True essence of Eco Art and SustainAbility.
Our project will begin on Feb 4th with individual and colloboratory projects. We will have a big collaboration in Hawaii and big one on March 20th with Marcus.
  • There is something about communication--deep communication
  • To garner in-depth understanding of symbolic whale meaning, we've got to pay homage to its environment, the oceans of our planet. Allegory-Ancient myths

Day #2 We Need to See It

This insight was trigger by a horrific uncovering on the torturing of baby elephants at the Ringling Brother Circus Torture Industry
This makes my soul shiver. Torture all for entertainment?
We all need to take action and stop this baby torture. The folks that do these harness crimes to an intelligent, gentle, soulful, being are truly evil and must have criminal charges brought against them. These violent abusers are walking around in our society. Also, those who cannot bear to look at the horror are continuing to send the message that this OK. It is time to put a stop to all of this insanity.
As well as reading the story of a mothers choice to have open coffin for child that was shot to pieces in the Sandy Hill shooting. To bring awareness to the policy makers about gun regulations.
I guess this is my theme of the day we need to SEE it and stop saying oh... I cannot bring myself to look at it-it is to sad. Cuz these horrors will not seize to exist unless we all SEE them and say NO--we will not tolerate this in
our World.

Day # Quietly Listen and Share the Path
Santa Monica Beach-Ritual & Meditation (Dolphins mindfully present in the waters said listen) Lisa Rasmussen MFA

Seal, Dolphins, Sea Birds, Hummingbird, & Crows in my mediative walk so present. Hummingbird and Dolphin especially.

I listened and this is what I heard ...
The path on this planet Earth must be shared with all species. Man for far to long has been selfishly hogging the path and destroying the Earth, that Sustains us all. All beings have a right to be on the path. Share the path!!  This even is an analogy to the "other" human syndrome  We all must Share the path to continue are existence or not. I guess that is your choice.

This will be a running blog about my process till March 20th, 2013
